So I've run out of Polaroid stock. I truly love this stuff, and I know there are thousands of artist out there still working the emulsion. I also know that the camera (long dead; resurrected; on life-support; surprisingly fit for an old man) is coming back soon. So what is now an "artist's medium" might still be available at Duane Reade in the future.

I'll hang on to my brave '320 with it's moldy close-up lens attachment and rheumy electric eye—when there's stock to be had, and a friend to sit for it, it delivers that seeping, off-color look I adore. The onecamera Flickr page has more...

</rss:item><rss:item rdf:about="http://www.onecameraonelens.com/home/2010/2/1/this-is-miles.html"><rss:title>This is Miles</rss:title><rss:link>http://www.onecameraonelens.com/home/2010/2/1/this-is-miles.html</rss:link>

<dc:subject></dc:subject>

I just got back from a business trip, this time to Tulsa, OK on some client work. One evening we managed to take in the Tulsa State Fair, which for any photographer is a kind of heaven. Would have loved to spend the week there.

As photographers, we tend to shoot a lot of frames. And with mass storage, a lot of what we have in the archives goes missing or becomes "invisible" in the hierarchy. They are retrieved only through search or serendipity. I was in Bardstown, Kentucky seven years ago for a workshop—this is one of the many characters inhabiting Boone's Butcher Shop, and I love the photo for Billy's reticence to be revealed, contrasted with the very public dressing of the meats in the back room.
