This past weekend I drove to Horton’s Point Lighthouse on the North Fork to chat with fellow radio folk as the Peconic Amateur Radio Club held their annual ARRL Field Day. I was impressed by the ingenuity and shared human purpose on display: to simply reach out and connect.

I’ve long loved the glimpse, the corner-of-the-eye view. Lately I’ve intentionally screwed up my takes, and am starting to feel freer about shooting without the usual adjustments (like focus!). There’s more on the flickr page.

So I’ve run out of Polaroid stock. I truly love this stuff, and I know there are thousands of artist out there still working the emulsion. I also know that the camera (long dead; resurrected; on life-support; surprisingly fit for an old man) is coming back soon. So what is now an “artist’s medium” might still be available at Duane Reade in the future.

I’ll hang on to my brave ‘320 with it’s moldy close-up lens attachment and rheumy electric eye—when there’s stock to be had, and a friend to sit for it, it delivers that seeping, off-color look I adore. The onecamera Flickr page has more…
